A Sound Investment – The Richards Report

Graphic Design, Logo & Branding

During his career with the Sydney Swans now-retired AFL Premiership player Ted Richards provided an inside perspective on life as a professional football player through his blog, The Richards Report.

Having transitioned from professional sport to a career in finance as Director of Business Development at Six Park, Ted tasked us with rebranding The Richards Report from his blog posts on the Swans’ website into a standalone investing podcast.

Key to the success of the rebrand was the ability of the podcast to engage a new audience outside of the AFL, whilst still resonating with the social media following Ted had amassed during his playing career.

An efficient design process was required, so we created three logo concepts for Ted to choose from. Once Ted had selected his preferred concept we set about refining the design across multiple iterations into the finished logo.

The finished logos:

The Richards Report Reverse Logo designed by Six Foot Seven

The logo concepts:

The Richards Report Logo Concept 2 by Six Foot Seven
The Richards Report Logo Concept 3 by Six Foot Seven

Using the new logo we created the visual assets needed to create podcast channels on iTunes and SoundCloud and a media pack for Ted to send to prospective guests.

For each episode of The Richards Report we design a unique banner so Ted can share the new episode on his social channels.

The Richards Report has become one of the top investing podcasts in Australia attracting world renowned finance and business experts as guests. It has been recognised as a finalist in the 2019 Australian Podcast Awards and holds a 5 star rating on iTunes.

Listen to it here on iTunes or on Sound Cloud.
